I'm looking to pick up one of these. However, I cannot find a single place that has any in stock. What gives?! Has anyone heard anything about availability of this gun? Is S&W still producing these, or are they just behind on production?

I have had a PC Shield on back order since Christmas. S&W says their making 1,000 Shields a day. I just don't know how many of those are PC.

Got one last weekend. A real fluke on my part - but persistence paid off.

I don't think the LGSs actually know when and what's coming in. So just find out their delivery dates and just visit or call during that time.

My LGS said they just got the 1 PC shield 2 weeks ago and 2 or 3 in early December.

I've got one on my "Wish List" at my LGS. But no one knows when to expect them to come in. Seems strange. I will just wait. To me, the sights and trigger alone are worth the extra money. the porting is just extra!

I walked in to my indoor range on Saturday Morning and it just so happened to be Smith and wesson day. I go up to the front counter and find they have 12 PC 9mm in stock so I immediately snagged 1 up. By the time I was done with my paperwork and checking out they were all sold out. I can assure you they still are making them and from my conversation with the S&W rep they just can not make them fast enough.

Be patient Gbradley and keep checking local gun shops or find out if S&W is coming to a range near you. You will eventually find one. Good luck in your search.

You have to literally find a few or more stores, learn there delivery schedule and call every day. No gun store here knows what's coming in till they open the boxes, least that's what four different stores told me during my search. It took me a few weeks but love my 9mm PC.

My friend and I both bought ours at our local Cabella's. They had been getting them in every 2 to 3 days. If you have a Cabella's near you, I would call them daily to see if they got any
that day. When they have them in stock, they will hold it until the end of that day for you.

The new ported shield comes with safety, will they come later without the safety?

I just bought mine today from my lgs. He only got 1 in and now he can't order anymore because they are alloted.

What is the fascination with a ported subcompact carry gun?

If you ever have to use it at night best of luck on your follow up shots...

there are plenty of videos on YouTube that says otherwise jeffhughes. That's why I just bought one today. You really need to watch the videos before you comment.

Better sights , better trigger, little less recoil but I realize the old shield didn't have much but less is better. Can't go wrong with the purchase.

If you are inferring the ports possibly causing some kind of temporary blindness at night, the reviews have not proven this at all. Just go to Youtube and view it for yourself.

I didn't buy the PC because I was fascinated with the ports but rather for the improved trigger and sights which makes it a compelling purchase. I paid only $75 over the standard Shield in my area for the improvements which becomes a no brainer. Throw in the ports; where do I sign?

Got mine at Cabela's in Hammond, IN a few weeks ago. They had about a hundred in their warehouse in SC. I got on a waiting list and they had it shipped in about a week. Other gun shops are putting people on a waiting list. One of them had me as 11th and I still haven't been called in a couple months. Ask if they will put you on a waiting list. Offer to put down a deposit it they can fill your order quickly.

I have a standard M&P Shield 9MM. Really like it for concealed carry. (Also have a Browning Hi-Power that is very sweet)..
Get on You Tube and watch Hickok45 compare a standard M&P Shield to a S&W Performance Center Ported. I would love to have the Performance Center sights on my Shield. Hope to find them available soon. Watch the video. Subscribe to his channel
if you would like also. Just about any firearm that you have or would love to have, he demonstrates and evaluates them.
Fun to watch. Great Fella.
