M&P9C or Glock 19?

Special forces in Socom all use the G19 not SW. Seals,Marsog, delta, green beret etc. The MP series do not hold up. MP police auto's break down faster and have a shorter service life. Our local PC gets about 3 years out of a MP SW. Not Good!

I call bull on that one. The M&P line only lasts 3 years? sorry but there have been police departments using them for 10+ years as of right now (since their introduction in 2005) and being traded in with decades of service life left on them too. Something is seriously wrong if your PD can only get 3 years of life out of them

Parts breakage is the problem, alot of work keeping the MP SW running, practice 1500+ Rds a year. There just not durable as Glocks are and that is why the military special forces use Glocks.

mass parts breakage over 4500 rounds? I'm sorry but that sounds like a bizarre circumsance or a bit of a lary there. there are MANY departments who have used them for 10+ years with thousands of rounds down the pipe. none of my M&P guns have EVER had ANY part replaced and they're easily 20,000 rounds for some, and 6-7000 rounds for the smaller ones like the shield. 1500 rounds a year and requiring heavy maintanence is something akin to a Taurus or what not. I love my glocks, but my M&P 9's and .40s that myself and my officer friends have last for YEARS and have never needed anything besides the occaisonal spring change or an extractor tweak.

I'm not saying your PD didn't have that experience, but the numbers you're giving are staggering for the tiny amount of shooting done through them (most people here shoot 3-5x the amount a police department will ever run through their guns and that hasn't been our experience )

I have both the G19 and M&P9c and they both shoot great. Glock finish seems to be a little better than the S&W but the S&W has better ergos. Glock stock trigger is better than the M&P as reset is much more audible but I actually got used to the M&P later on so it's a non issue.

But the G19 can fit most standard rail accessories and some of those were probably designed especially for the G19 (e.g. Surefire XC1). Unlike the M&P 9c which can only use smaller lights or lasers.

I almost sold my 9c before but I'm very comfortable with it, I decided to keep it as part of my small collection.
