I'm not a Glock fanboy, but I can tell you that the initial pointing issue goes away pretty quickly. Just like you, when I was experienced with others, the Glock initially pointed high, and I had to force it down. By the end of my first session (200 rounds maybe), I had made the adjustment. But why should you have to adjust? Good question, since it seems like there are two grip angles--Glock and everyone else.
I carried that G19 for about four years and then sold it to a friend, when I went to a two-caliber system--45 and 223--to better manage my ammo inventory. Three years later, as luck would have it, I won a G19 in a contest I didn't know I had entered. My wife wanted it but not without a safety and night sights. Since my purchase price was right, I decided I could afford to get a Cominolli safety and Truglo TFX sights (combination tritium and fiber optics) installed. My wife had been a 1911 shooter but had no problem adapting to the Glock grip angle.
So now that I'm in 3 calibers again, I'm looking to get a 9mm Shield, for a nice small gun when that's all I can carry. I'll get it with a safety and also get night sights (and possibly the version with the green laser), so it will be all set for my wife to take it away from me. And then I'll get something else.
