I use a Model 14-4 to compete in bullseye distinguished revolver program. Single action, the trigger is just under 3 lbs., but DA is pretty rough. I've tried using the Wolff power rib spring but it failed to light my CCI primers and didn't make the trigger any smoother. I've since purchased a case of Federal primers and thinking of sending the gun off to someone who can make it buttery smooth DA. So, my question is should I send the gun off to a 'smith for modification or try to do the work myself? I'm assuming the 'smiths who cater to the PPC guys probably do the best DA work but am looking for recommendations. Thanks.

+1 on Jerry's video. I had previously been following the guidance in Gun Smith Kinks II and the S&W Revolver Shop Manual (Kuhnhausen) but Jerry's video is much more thorough. If you follow his advice, you will improve your action smoothness and not have any problems.

Key is don't go overboard! Lock the Dremel up before you begin!!

Just got my video yesterday. The disassembly portion is very detailed, look forward to going thru the trigger job section. Thanks for the recommendations.
