A LGS has a almost "mint" M15 Combat Masterpiece for sale, with the box. The gun has one small spot with some blue wear at the left ide of the muzzle. There are no other marks and there is no turn line. Asking price is $500 + tax. I'd appreciate some comments re: value, or worth
Thanks

That isn't a great price, but it isn't too bad if you really, really want a Model15.
That said, being able to walk in the store, put hands on the gun and look it over, then take it home with you is worth something. You could wait six months and burn $75 in gas looking around for a better deal. You said "asking price." If you could get it for even a few dollars less, say $500 OTD, that would be better.

A member here recently bought a very, very nice Model 15 for $325 on a state S&S, but those deals don't come along every day.

I bought a pre-model 15 5 screw in 98% condition with the right grips for $406 shipped to my house (C&R). Has the second most beautiful blue job I have ever seen, second only to my 27-2.

There are deals out there if you are patient.

Just a thought. The above condition does not sound "mint" to me. :) Thus, making the asking price too high. If you never see them, don't mind it not being "perfect" or just want it....then buy it! I'm sure we all have been there before. I would try the $500 OTD price though.

I bought my 42-3 with 4" bbl for $750 in 44 special. Was the most I had given for a handgun up until that time. Less than 2600 made. I had the money and went for it. Same with the 24-3 3" bbl same caliber lew horton gun. Both were without boxes or papers. I'm primarilaly a shooter not a collector. Same thing with my 6.5" bbls 624 I shoot what I by. Since then haven't seen another of any of the three handguns mentioned. Karma or fate??. Frank

I paid a little more than that recently for one in similar condition not too long ago. I don't see them in that condition (or any condition really) too often, especially with the box. Sure, I might have found another one for less if I'd waited around for it, but I might not have too.

I know a "Classic Model 15" costs a lot more.

You can get a 67 (stainless 15) all day long at Robertson's for $419. So that would be my price ceiling. Personally, I won't pay extra for a box.
