Anybody know off-hand what the barrel lengths were for the M25-2 in .45 ACP? I thought 6 inches was the standard but I see one for sale around here in a LGS that has a 6 1/2 inch tube???

The Catalog says 6 1/2" barrels, with "later versions with 4", 6" or 8 3/8" barrel".
Doesn't say what "later" is though.

The standard was 6.5" until 1978 when all S&Ws were supposed to be standardized at 6". Mine was made in 1980 with a 6.5" tube so I assume they used up barrels in inventory.

My 25-2 has a 6 1/2" barrel. It is a Model of 1955. I don't have the SCSW (w/e it's called) catalogue to give me a date but I am fairly sure it is early 1970's.

It is a great shooter, I love to take it along with my 625-4, & even my 1917 or 1937 (same mechanically to me) to the range. The only problem is I always run out of ammo. Of well, it just gets me to fire up the old Dillon 550B :)
