Long story short, I purchased my first M27 several years ago from the original owner. Just had to have a 27 6". It came with the wood presentation box with papers and tools, including original sales receipt. It has taken me this long to realize it's a bit different than other 27's, it has a Patridge front sight with a red insert. Was this an option or would it be a custom insert by a gunsmith? If custom, it is very well done and the pin looks unaltered. I might be able to contact the original owner for info. Always learning something new about these Smith revolvers.
