I was going to have a 6" barrel put on this gun, by S&W. You guys talked me out of it. Since I've had several offers. I need to know what it's worth and what
a M29-2 6" is worth. This one is NIB, has slight line from handling, liner in case has small crack. Papers are under liner.

I think your gun would bring 1300+ on gunbroker.

950 I would take it right now

29-2

M294 don't have any experience with online sales. In fact just
got Ipad a few months ago at grandkids insistence, they bought
it. I'm not really looking to sell gun, it don't eat very much. I've
got $1000 offers left and crooked. I thank you for info. I figure
I can parlay gun into 6" and some boot. In my neck of woods
nobody wants short barrels, you can't sell a shotgun unless it's
full- choke. I think we have more "air" around and between stuff
than guys who are into short barreled stuff.

Thanks

Looks like my 4" 29-2 when I first bought it from Little Biff's Gun Room in Cosmosdale, KY back in the '80s. The liner has since disentegrated, but I still have the box and tools. Traded the targets (which I hate) for some magnas years ago. It's actually got Pachmayrs on it now, since they fit my hand better than anything besides old service grips from an M1917.

4" 29-2s were always cheaper back in the day. Somebody'd see "Dirty Harry", go looking for a 6" which they couldn't find, then pick up the first 4" they saw, along with a box of the hottest ammunition they could find. A few days to a few weeks later, the same gun would be back in the same store, along with a partial box of ammunition.

I've rarely fired anything but Specials through mine, other than when I first bought it and to diagnose a manufacturing defect in the forcing cone. I went though a bunch of heartache to get that fixed, but it's highly accurate, no longer spits, and is very controllable with Specials, even the Speer 200gr. Gold Dot JHPs.

Mine is my avatar here.
