I have tried to search with no luck. Have my Dad's M39-2 that is shooting left. Having no luck moving the sights. Any suggestions??

Also, the rear sights ride on a metal piece that moves slightly - Is there anyway to keep that metal piece from moving??

Love the 39-2!!!

Thanks,

Jim

Welcome to the forum.:D It has taken you awhile for your first post.;)

Does the rear sight blade move freely in the sight base or is it 'frozen'?

The sight base moves in the slide?

Yes - It's my first post. Have been reading and learning a lot from this forum.

The rear sight appears to be frozen - Trying penetrating oil and slight screw movement - no luck yet

The sight base moves slightly in the base - maybe not enough to worry

Well then good to see you ask your first question.:) I figured you lost your previous post count when we moved here.:o

I'd keep trying the penetrating oil and lightly working the screw back and forth till it is free. If it doesn't free up, you should be able to get new rear sight parts from Brownell, Numrich, or someplace like that. Worst case, they have rear sight assemblies and they're pretty easy to change out.
