If this 39-2 is one of the early 39's they had the same problem as the early 59's with reguard to extraction. the factory had a number of barrels that were chambered a little to deep which caused extraction issues. The factory had issues with drilling the extractor piviot pin hole in the slide in the correct position it could be slightly foward or reward or to the outside of the frame slightly. this necessitated 3 diffrent extractors to compensate for the problem as i recall extractors with a #1 stamped on the bottom was for a hole drilled to far foward a # 3 stamped on the bottom was for to tight a gauge and a number 2 no stamp was the normal extractor. two springs were in use then a standard spring and a green colored spring which applied more pressure to the extractor. In some cases the tail of the extractor was bent in toward the slide for more pressure on the extractor. one other issue they also had some chambers that were a little deep that also caused fail to extract. these problems were mainly for 39s,59s made in the early 70's the last 59's i had these issues with were in the 174000 range later extractors had a punch mark on the front surface of the claw.
