Hi Guys,
I posted this in the auto pistol forum, but maybe this is a more appropriate location.
I wonder if anyone has access to the Armourer's Manual for the model 39?
I have one here that doesn't extract and I wanted to check the extractor pressure.
Is there a factory setting?
Cheers

I don't know the factory spring weight, but more than likely your extractor is either slightly chipped or worn - inspect under magnification. I have sharpened them successfully with an Arkansas stone or Jeweler's file a few times. You can try that until you can replace it and the spring which might be prudent.

I did one on my High Standard Shotgun over 20 years ago and it's still working perfectly. The use of steel cased ammo does not help the extractor - don't know if that is something you've used.

The factory recommended pressure (extractor spring tension) for the model 39 9mm is 4-7 pounds. There are several other "go" and "no-go" measurement checks that are done in conjunction with the static check of the spring tension. Factory "nested" extractor spring sets were used to increase pressure to the proper levels over the standard spring.

The tension check is done with a Wagner force dial. A high quality trigger pull gauge might also be able to be configured to work properly.

ALSO THE FIT OF THE EXTRACTOR WAS TO CHECKED WITH A BAR AND FLAG GAGE,

ONE OF THE BIGGEST FAULTS CAUSING A FAILURE TO EXTRACT IS A CHIPPED EXTRACTOR "AS STATED ABOVE".
ALSO FOULING BUILD UP IN THE EXTRACTOR CHANNEL PUSHES THE EXTRACTOR OUTWARD. REDUCING THE HOLD OF THE EXTRACTOR

Thanks guys,
I will have to go through the old tool kits and see whether I still have the gauges.
Last time I did the Armourer course on these was around the time of the release of the Sigma series! about 30 years ago I guess.

Is it possible to get copies of the armorer's manuals?

Many thanks
