Took out my new 41 last night.
Using Win T22 (cuz it works well in everything
else (vintage guns)). Couple issues with the
ammo notably failure to eject and a miss-fire.
I put a pair of alternate grips as I did not
like the target grip because I don't like the
mag well in the grip (personal preference).
The grips are supposed to be factory. Did they
make a field grip?

Ordered the Wolff Spring kit when I got home.

Here's my question:

What ammo do you find best in your gun?
Note whether it is Std vel or Hi vel.

I run CCI Standard velocity in my 41s, Smith & Wesson does not recommend using the Hi Velocity rounds. You can do a search here on the Semi Auto Forums, and find many many posts of this frequently asked question.

After a break in of around 300 rounds, my model 41 now runs 99.999%, as long as it's kept kinda clean and a bit of lube on the slide rails.

I've settled on CCI Standard Velocity and bulk packed Federal Auto Match. Auto Match seems to be a midrange velocity, in between Standard and High. Think of it as a Standard velocity with a little extra kick to cycle semi-auto actions.

Good Luck...

With searching the forum I've found seven
types to try, have to dig out the 22 box
and see which ones I have to purchase.

Can't wait for my spring kit, lol.

Keep the info comming!

Thanks guys

I normally use Federal Gold Medal Target (711B) in my Model 41, but surprisingly it shoots Aguila Match Pistol well also. Try looking at 22ammo.com.

Federal 711B was designed for Bolt Action rifles. I shoot CMP with it. It is also up to $40-42 for a brick of 500. We used to pay $36 last year. I use the Federal Auto Match in my 41's and my High Standards. Can't beat it for $15-16 a bulk pack of 325. The box states a muzzle velocity of 1200 fps. As the name says, this ammo is designed to cycle an automatic action in a rifle or pistol. Good stuff.
