Hi.
I bought my 1979 M41 used couple of years ago. I dont know how many shots it has fired but I guess a lot. I have had a lots of clicks and failure with it since I bought it, Ive changed firepin, firepinspring and recoilspring and it helped a little but still to many clicks, feeding problems etc. I examined it a little closer and found this :

Anyone know what causes this?

Welcome to the forum. I've never seen that before on a Model 41. It looks like the barrel has been battered by the slide and extractor. Is there corresponding damage on the slide?

Some pictures of the slide would help and also some of the slide and barrel mated together.

Hi. Thanks for your welcome and reply. I cant see any damage on the slide but I think you are right about damage from the extractor. I will take some more pictures tomorrow.

Hi Rawlins
I have a 1990 vintage M41 that I just bought. The breech face is showing similar ware. I know from the condition of the rest if the gun that it wasn't treated well but it shot very good and the price was right. I'm really curious to know what might have caused this. I hope someone on this forum can give us some advice.
