Hi guys,

Long time since last project write-up...

I always wanted a Shorty .45, I find the gun beautiful and I love the .45. The small package is perfect for EDC. The problem is that they are hard to find and they cost $$$$. So, I settled for a M457, that to me is a great gun. Later I found a M4516-1 that I don't carry on me, but I take it on the car when I'm traveling...

...but, I always wanted that Shorty .45

My friend Matt (Heymatt), came to visit one day and he brought his beautiful M4513 TSW. I liked it a lot, so I guess Matt felt pity on me and decided to take a trade...so, I ended with a M4513 TSW.

So,I wanted to cut a scallop on it' but I wanted to do it on a spare slide, so I could return the gun to original configuration in case I needed to sell. Spent months trying to find one. BMCM (Bill) had a spare one, so he sent it to me as a gift.

I made some cuts on it...

More to come...

It's going to be hard to beat that 5906 you built for me , or the 457 you built by hand . But I'm sure it'll be your usual work of art .

I’m hoping to talk you into some 457 work this winter. Watching to see how this one turns out!

That came out amazing, (of course,) but I’m partial to the 4513’s and the work you do. (Thanks again.) They make a great option for long term carry. What a perfect platform for you to use.

Personally I like the short grip tang on the TSW’s. The Shorty’s and Recons have the same longer grip tang as the 4516’s. Even though the TSW’s grip frame is overall the same length as the others, with the notched mag well requiring the 6rnd mag it is of course shorter. So with the inherent excellent accuracy of the TSW’s, smaller overall length and weight you have a realistic contender to the PC’s.
