My good friend stopped over today with a a M59 and wanted to know if i wanted to buy it for $200. it is in good condition a little holster wear but nothing much. I'm not really into the older smith's (i like my m&p's tho) so i am not sure what this gun is worth. Anyway thanks for the help guys. I'll try and get him to send me a pic so i can post it.

Its worth every bit of that.

Fair market value is $100 more unless there is something seriously wrong with it.

Guns are never expensive.
Its the TIME you commit to them that is the real expense.

....for $200 in good condition a little holster wear but nothing much....

Thats like half price, if he has the extra magazine thats another $25 value, holster another $25, ammo another $25, box n docs another $25, if its nickel add another $50

See where this is going ?

Even if its a total cosmetic mess in good mech cond its worth $200.

Post some pics and a serial when you get a chance we loves Model 59's

Like the others... That's a steal. If you want a shooter, see how it feels in your hand as my small hands don't care for the M59 grip. If you are ok with the grip, grab it.

Tell me where it is, and I'll buy it.
Just to remove the temptation, of course.

I picked it up a few weeks ago. Shot it today. Not sure my little hands like this gun. I run my m&p's very well but this gun not so much.

Great deal on a great 9 mm. Thanks for the pic and info. I never carried a double-stack smith because they don't fit my hand either, to big.

Is there anyway to find out how old or new this firearm is? I assume by the vin, but not sure how or where to find out. Thanks.

post the first three numbers of the serial numberand I`ll look it up great deal on a great wondernine .

first 3#'s and the letter haha are A707. Thanks, its a nice gun. a little big grips for my hands, but a sweet shooter.

Thanks guys! Any good holster recomendations? I only shoot my m&p's at IDPA and my personal range. And they ride in custom kydex holsters for speed. My daily carry is in a cross breed. Soo therefore i have no idea what options are out there for this gun. Probably want something otw, just for the range and walking the dog in the woods.

I paid $200 for mine many years ago, belonged to a friend's BIL who was a Treasury Agent. Had a factory recall- magazine-related issues. S & W restamped the serial number and both mags with an "A" pre-fix.

I did manage to put a scratch in the frame when threw an loose empty mag in my range bag...still feel bad about that bone head move.

Best.
