i have a chance to buy a 3 inch 629. model numvber in the yoke says M629-2E . what does the E stand for? . s/n BEE4587 new condition , he wants $1250 is this a good price?

A 629-2E w/o flutes for $1250 in new condition w or w/o box is a very good price. I would almost drive to Idaho to buy it.

The 629-2E denotes the addition of the “Endurance Package,” which on the 629E included longer cylinder stop and stop notches. The -3 and -4 got additional “endurance” enhancements that made the 629/29 better suited, more durable, to withstand repeated shooting of heavier bullets during silhouette competition.

$1250 is a great price!
