Folks: I believe there is a difference in the barrels of the above, but does anyone know what the differences are?
For instance: the M4506 utilized, I believe, the M645 frame. Were the slides the same too (except for the sight cuts)? If so, were the barrels interchangeable?
When the M4506-1 came out, I believe it was on the larger frame. Was the slide the same as the M645 and/or the M4506? Is the barrel the same? I know that somewhere along the way the barrel hood was widened, I think about 0.1" to 0.465" - I may be off on the numbers - but is that the only difference in the barrels?
I guess the root of all this is, are any of the 4506 model barrels the same as the 645? If not, could they be fitted to a 645? If it is just the barrel hood width, I would think that would be a relatively easy modification to make.
