Yes! And the big problem is the requirement for proper heat treatment AFTER the part is machined. A few gun parts position in the works will not need any additional heat treatment, but darn few. In my former gunsmith practice, I found that it was the most economical to buy any needed part from the OEM and modify as required vs. the time (money) required to make it myself. ..............
