I knew that guns would take a hit this Summer (they usually do); but, I didn't expect this. Got there early. Stayed two hours. Always go to the sides and back walls where the old guys are. This Nickel 10-6 from 1964 was brought in by a man with a table for his old friend who wanted to sell it. Had to pay $350. Personal sale. No footprints. That's worth something to me. The football targets had been on it for many decades. I popped on some Altamonts for now until I can restore the targets. Initial clean up complete. A good many finger prints and oxidation to remove. Will detail it later. The targets are 1967ish and will take days to clean up.

Nice score DocB. I'd be happy and proud to take that home for $350. I do love Md 10s and 64s and from time to time, they still can be found for a reasonable price.

This is just my humble opinion (ok IMHO) but I'd go ahead and clean up those targets as per your plan, but I would put on a set of factory magnas. The magnas seem just perfect for the Md 10.

I may go into the box of grips and pull out some old magna grips. I tend to prefer them too.

Augusta is a long way away. My son used to work there. This gun is looking like it might hit 95%. Nickel cleans up good. I'm working on the grips now.

I'm done with the clean up except for the Ren wax. It hit 95% pretty easy. Not too bad for a gun that was so dirty I was ashamed to show it to my friends at the gun show yesterday. Fifth year of the heavy barrel and nickel to boot.

I'm sure you're not shame to show it now,if it look's like the pic i'm looking at now. Nice clean up job DocB.

I was at the show as well. Saw your model 10 and passed, figured I had enough 4 inch at the moment. Didn't see the snubby or it would have come home. The owner of the 64 wouldnt come down to a good price. Did get a lead on a model 57, my favorite, so came home with brass and bullets, a lead on the 57 and a poor man's Smith model 41 to try out. (another brand)

The snub got put out as I was standing there. I passed briefly so another man could look at it. He passed and I bought it. The M10 was so dirty I wasn't even sure it was nickel at first. They didn't want me to remove the grips. I took a chance since it was so cheap. It turned out to be a C serial number from 1964 with the N under the grips wearing grips from around 1967. People really don't know how to take care of guns. You have to be able to "see through" all the crud these days.
