If I'm being honest, one of the factors that led me to buy the Shield 9mm was the Mag Guts springs...many others, too.

I just installed 2 of the +1 Zee springs in the 8 and 7 round mags and I'm not impressed so far. I have not fired them. The follower doesn't seem like it's really all that stable, even though I've checked it several times. The installation video says to toss the old spring, follower, and lock plate because I "won't need it anymore," but I have a feeling I'll be using them again.

Anyone else have concerns about them? I will hopefully get to try them out this week.

I use the +1 and +2 kits in a couple of my mags all the time. Probably 4-500 rounds through each.
The only issue I've ever had is occasionally with one of my 8 round mags(now 10 round) the
slide doesn't lock open when the mag is open.
My other 10 rounder and my 7 rounder (now 8) have been perfect.

No problem with a 7+1 or two 8+2 through 200+ rounds each.

I had the same concern with the follower after installing it last week. I was able to tilt the follower...

I emailed magguts and I was told

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for sending the pictures and video with your message as it makes it
clear what you are asking.

Yes, it is normal for the follower to tilt back if you push it
intentionally. This will never happen during normal operation and it will
work perfectly.

Since it happens only when done intentionally on an unloaded magazine that
is not in the gun it is a somewhat abnormal situation that does not affect
function.

Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

I've only put 50rds through it since and had no issues feeding those 50. I guess I'll trust it once i hit 500

Yeah just make sure your spring was installed correctly. It should look like this once it's seated

The 9th round will take a little power to get in and you'll probably here a "snap/pop" but i take that as the spring seating and after that it should be easier to load. I'll update once I hit 500 or if I have any issues.

I've run hundreds of rounds through my Magguts +1 with no problems. I recently bought the new +2 Magguts for the 7 round mags and haven't had any problems with it either. Once you have the spring and follower installed correctly, load the mag to capacity to seat everything.

I had the 8+2 MAGGUTS conversion that worked fine then when I was at the range and tried to "thumb out" the S/D ammo for range ammo, the follower "flipped over"
I e mailed them about it and they are sending me a new conversion. (when they receive my old one)
I am not happy about this....somehow I can't trust the setup any longer.

That is how mine looks, so I'll give it a shot. I just don't get the "warm and fuzzies" when the follower seems so delicately placed...maybe longer side protrusions or even soldering the follower to the spring would be something they try for the next revision...

I have had no issues whatsoever with my kit. Functions exactly as expected. Most of the time I don't even remember it's in there.

I have and had no issues.

When you say "flipped over", do you mean that it tilted up?

Yes, tilted up, had to take it apart to fix it.

Just got a new Shield 9mm for EDC and want to add the magguts +2. From the comments here, reliability seems to be an issue.
Wondering if the failures are product or installation problems?
Would like to hear any and all feedback with your opinions.
Thanks.

My only problem was when I tried to unload S/D ammo from the mag. to replace it with target, the follower flipped up and It had to be taken apart to fix it.
Other than that it was OK for 500 rounds.
MAGGUTS is replacing the kit, but NO EXPLANATION!

Maybe look into the hyve+2? Comes in different colors so you can customize to your liking.

Well, mine performed fine at the range, and loads smoother than the stock plastic followers, IMO. I do have a Hyve +2 on the way, too.
