I just got a new magazine spring for my 3913. Both ends of the new spring look the same, but, about 1/3 of the spring was colored red. Does that mean anything? Or are both ends the same?

The red paint is a factory marker as to what the spring fits.
Check the original spring to see if there's any differences. The most important part is to make sure that the spring is installed to force the front of the follower as high as possible.
Thanks! As far as I can tell, the two ends are identical. And since I can put the follower on either end with the same results, they probably are. I guess I'll put the painted end down, just in case the paint were to flake off.
