Magpul B.A.D. Lever

I was lukewarm on the BAD lever since I shoot lefty, but tried one at a local shop and see where it would be beneficial for LH. Even though I'm already on the bolt catch side with my trigger hand, it just seems so much more natural to reach up and tap the arm with my trigger finger vs shifting my grip and stretching it out...

I've only tried the Magpul, I've read the Troy is nice also but avoid Troy on principle. Local shop had the Magpul so I grabbed it tonight. I'll attach it when install an Ambi safety and Mag release coming from Battle Arms Dev.

You know BCM makes an ambidextrous charging handle...;)

I can say this. The tactical link has 2 screws and a set screw. Its ROCK SOLID. No wiggle or movement at all that I've seen in the magpul and troy levers. Don't forget Phase 5 Tactical makes one also.

Installed the BAD lever tonight... seem to have a bit of play in it...not the lever itself, it is solid. The play is in the Bolt Catch itself, which is minor when it's only that little 1/2" paddle, but hang a 3" lever off of it and it becomes much more noticeable. I'm not sure if it is an issue, though. I'm going to test and drill with it and go from there...

Here are a couple pics, one with it nudged forward, and one back. You can see the angle change on the BAD lever, as well as the small oem lever. Without the BAD lever, probably never an issue, and may not be still, just surprised me at the amount of back n forth play. Does everyone with a BAD lever have this same amount of play?

Also makes it harder to get to the Ambi Mag release, so I'm not sold on this yet

Yes. I have the same little play on both my rifles.

totally normal.....same here for a little play, but not enough to make a difference!

Sounds good, thanks for the confirmation. Gonna run it for a while and see how I like it.

I considered one of those, but having something other than my finger in the trigger guard gave me second thoughts. I guess the jury's still out for me.

A few of my buddies use bad levers, haven't herd of any problems. I'm a lefty so no issues here. I wish S&W would make a m&p 15 lower like the m&p 10. Being fully ambidextrous seems like a no brainer. Everyone who's shot my m&p10 loves the ambidextrous controls.
