Seems like a bad idea to not use the front sights, why would anyone want to lay them down?

if you are using a magnified scope with a crosshairs the front sight will get in the way. now, if that scope is on a quick detach mount and something happens to it, you can pop the scope off and pup the back up sights up to continue shooting with irons.

The short story is their business grew so big so fast, it was becoming difficult to manage the sheer quantity of 1 or 2 item orders on the web site. Their product line has grown in leaps and bounds in the past couple of years. To ease the strain, the high demand products go to retailers first. Once the demand slows and they fill the pipeline, they will probably start selling them direct. This also help keep the volume buyers (dealers) happy and coming back for more.

I'm not sure whey they are not listed on the site, usually they just list them, but don't allow you to purchase them direct. Maybe they are in the middle of some updates.

They are the same as a standard AR-15/M-16/M4 sight (about 2.6" HOB). The rear sight is designed to work with a standard barrel mounted FSB.

Generally speaking, for the front sight, it doesn't make much difference. With the sight up, looking through a magnified optic, you can see only a slight ghost image of the sight. It's not enough to obscure your sight picture. For non-magnified optics (red dots, reflex sights etc), it's just a matter of preference. Some like to have the post out there to co-witness off of, and others like to have an obstruction free view through the tube, but still have the option of a front sight if the optic gets damaged or stops operating properly.
 
i've got a set on my DPMS AR-15 and love them...i paid almost $100 off ebay so i might jump on this deal!
 
I love the way these sights look on the 15-22. I've only seen pictures of course, picking my rifle up today.
These guys shipped the same day I ordered, so +1 for fast service. +10 for price. I should have mine this weekend, maybe I can join the guys in the pic thread.
 
I got mine last week. went out, shot it without even adjusting it and it was already zeroed in!! :D
