I currently have a scope on my M&P15-22. I went to Fin Feather & Fur and look at the Magpul sights. Just wondering who has them on their M&P15-22. Any good news or bad news?

I have the gen 1s on mine. They work great and look better than the stock sights IMO. It's also a lot of fun to just sit and pop them up and down, at least my niece and nephew think so.

I run Magpul Gen2s on all my AR platform rifles... Very nice sight for the money!!

They're the best sights for the money IMO. I love the ease of use with the ambidextrous push button flip up. They are a lot faster to deploy than the troy sights I have on my AR. They hold there zero very well.

I don't think I've ever heard anything bad about the Magpul sights.

Thanks for the quick responses. I will probably pick them up this weekend. Just thought they were a little high priced.

How much are they at Fin Feather & Fur?

Outdoorgearbarn.com usually has good prices on them. I think around $80 for front and rear sights.

The Troy sights I have on my AR came with the rifle, if it wasn't for that and the front sight being mounted on the gas block I wouldn't pay $200 for iron sights.

Fin Feather & Fur charge full price on the sights. Its approx $95 + Taxes. Total about $104.80. I guess Outdoorgearbarn will get my business if its only $80. I dont mind if shipping is $10 I will still save money but will need to wait for the sights which is fine with me. Thanks GHOST SOLDIER

I think at outdoorgearbarn the front sight is $30 and the rear sight is $45 and its $8 flat rate shipping on anything magpul. From what I've found they seem to have the best prices on anything magpul.

You're welcome, glad I could help.

You could save yourself some more by going with the PTS versions. My buddy runs a set and there's not much difference if at all.

Ask yourself these questions ...

Am I really going to be shooting solely with iron sights or shoot in situations where backup iron sights are a necessity?

Am I just wanting them because of the "coolness" factor?

If I am really going to be shooting solely with iron sights, what's the matter with the stock sights?

i run a red dot or a scope, no need for sights sorry.

Sorry for what? It's a choice and many choose not to run backup sights. I didn't run them until I got to the range one day and my red dot battery was dead. Looked all through my bag for my spare and it was no where to be found. The 15-22 stayed in the bag that day and that sucked. MBUS went on the next day.

Same here, but I like to have the "irons" for a third option. In my opinion, it's more fun and more of a challenge with them. Sometimes I just feel like shooting the old fashion way. If I didn't use them, I wouldn't have them.

Same. Many times I find myself with the dot off and the sights up. When my kid grabs it, the sights go down and the dot goes on.

One of the things I really like about the 15-22 is it's light weight. Unfortunately, the factory sights are like boat anchors... weigh about a half pound! MBUS + Primary Arms MicroDot weigh about the same as the factory sights alone.

If I feel the need for iron, it takes less than a minute to pull the scope off (QD mounts) and put the factory iron on. No change in zero, BTW.

Then he got lucky. I have the cheap "PTS" version and they are totally junk. Virtually all PTS units are cheap chinese knock offs. I don't believe that Magpuls pacific rim website has had the PTS versions for sale for a long time.

(Update. I just checked the magpul-pts website and the only Magpuls sights listed are the full price version)

My "PTS" version units don't lock open repeatably in the same way which affects accuracy, etc.

The mechanism that allows switching between peep sight hole sizes doesn't hold.

Many others have had to pull them apart and adjust the spring tension.

You definitely get what you pay for in this case. There is a huge difference between the two versions that I bought.
