ok, i did a quick search online, does anyone make a magwell grip that doesnt wrap around the actual magwell, like one that can attach to the lower rail in front and just contour down the front of the magwell?
i just keep finding the cheap plastic mako ones and a few others just like it. i want something a little more clean looking and made of metal so it can withstand a little abuse.

i always hold my ar on the front of the magwell when i shoot it on a rest it is just the comfortable spot but i would love a nice grip there to make it a more solid hold.

I bought a fab defense bipod for grip and I really like it. I actually have it pretty close to the mag well as the grip is pretty large and it's more ergonomic closer to the mag well for me. It's beefy, super solid and looks wicked. In bipod mode there is a small bit of play but you expect that in a tactical gorilla type bipod. Where as the Harris units are more precision sniper types. The legs of the fab defense bipod are also aluminum so the whole unit, in hand grip or bipod mode, feels great.

i dont really want a bipod just a grip, but im not a fan of stuff hanging off the bottom of my gun so thats why i want something that closely contours the magwell and doesnt take up too much rail space as i like leaning the bottom on sand bags and such

CAA makes great stuff. Those are excellent recomondations Gopher Slayer

Yeah, I should give them more credit. The CAA LHV47 handguard on my AK is rock solid. Some of the other products I've tried from them ended up in the junk/parts box, but I find that with every company.

The whole patent thing CAA had going with The Mako Group kind of turned me off too.

I haven't used these, and I'm not a big fan of CAA, but is this what you're talking about? I haven't seen any made of metal. Maybe try a handstop.

I was browsing through the links you posted and I really liked the look of the MGRIP1. So, I ordered one. I think it might work out well for a tight grip as I pie targets on IDPA stages. We'll see how it works out.

Anyway, here's how it looks on my 15-22. It's kinda cool, actually.
