Mail order ammo

Do not be rude, this is a criminal offense. Considering the penalties, troubles, and costs one could incur breaking the law by attempting to ship ammo this way I thought it was worth mentioning. Ignorance is no excuse.

Just assumed you were being nit picky about the use of the phrase "Mail Order" when we all really mean UPS. Just trying to inject a little humor now and then. Guess I'll go back to lurk mode and quit contributing now.

I've been waiting for this. I just ordered Blazer Brass 9mm at $11.99 and Fiocchi .45 at $17.99. People complain about their shipping time, but I've ordered 3 times from them and it hasn't been bad. Last one was 6 days from order to delivery.

Up until last month i lived in SC (used the range at PSA frequently), so their UPS delivery was obviously quick since i was "local" but the overall turn time was always reasonable. I've only ordered ammo though, maybe it's actual guns and accessories that take longer for customer orders.

OP if you're in the market for 9mm ammo, PSA now has free ship over $100 and a couple good 115gn fmj options that would run about .24 per round (+ any tax) if you order over the free ship level.

I watch PSA and MidwayUSA closely as they often have coupons that make for fantastic deals. They don't often apply to ammo, but when they do they're great. I used a $40 off $200 coupon back in July at Midway and ended up with a case of Blazer Brass 9mm for $224, with free shipping. Always happy to find 9mm for under $.25 per round :)

Thanks for all the help and advise on ordering ammo. I have learned a lot from all of you since I only started shooting regularly a few months ago. I really thank all of you who have helped and tried to keep us newbies out of trouble.

I'm pretty new to shooting as well (1 year now), but have learned a ton from this forum and others. As you learn things, you want to pass it on to other new shooters so they don't make all the mistakes you made at first ;)

Unfortunately everyone does not mean UPS- People do mail ammo and it is done with USPS employee knowledge simply because not everyone knows what the law is. I have asked them and some did not know ( even though the poster on the wall said NO), so info to prevent someone from committing a felony is a good idea. Humor is good, "lurking" is good, contributing is better. Be Safe,

PSA isn't bad, but I've tended to avoid them since I have to pay tax and shipping. However, they are opening a new store literally less than 10 mins from my house. My wife is not pleased lol.

Big fan of Freedom Munitions. Sign up for their daily alerts. Sometime you can get what you want on sale and get free shipping. Right now they have 1000 rounds of 115gr 9mm reman for $194.39 + shipping. $13.08, total deliver to CA would be $207.49. That's less than 21¢ per round. I'll bet you can't find a price like that anywhere else.

For me, the key to getting good prices has been to always be shopping for ammo and not limit myself too much on where I order, although I do only order from places that have some sort of reputation. And as others have mentioned, take advantage of free shipping specials and coupon codes. Recently, I've been ordering from Target Sports USA, Cabelas, Midway, Brownells, Freedom, and PSA, but only when the delivered price is good. I have shied away from PSA recently because of their unpredictable shipping. Sometimes they ship in a reasonable time and sometimes they take a long time. And I've had them poorly pack one shipment.

Unfortunately for those of us in Mass, no one seems to be willing to ship ammo here, even though I have checked with my local Chief of Police who advised me that its perfectly legal.
Yet another reason not to like this place.

I have bought from Cheap Guns & Bulk Ammo for Sale Online Free Shipping Available and LAX Ammunition sales, handgun reloaded ammo, remanufactured ammunition.

LAX Ammo shipped super fast, but charged shipping. however compared with people who offer 'free' shipping, the price per round evened out. They're on the opposite coast from me (CA to NC) so it took a bit to cross the US.

Target sports had some weird shipping issue. I got shipping notice rather fast, but I had to call them a couple times for it to actually ship. I didn't get a detailed answer on as to what caused the issue but Fedex got the notice 9 days before it actually shipped. once it hit fedex it showed up in two days. I'll give them another chance, as stuff happens and other people I've asked have used them with no issues.

This is getting away from the op request but I recently bought al. cased Federal 115 gr fmj from Wal-Mart for $9.97 per box of 50. With the tax, it figured out to be just over 21½ per round. I do not shoot 9mm that much so I do not reload it so the al. cases do not bother me. 200 rounds was $43.07. Could have easily bought 1 K. The salesperson said this brand did not stay on the shelf very long.

I'm another Freedom Munitions fan. I go with the 500 rounds of remanufactured 115 gr. 9mm. It shoots clean and reliable in my FS M&P. And it went fine the few times it's been through Glocks or Beretta 92s.
