I've been carrying a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster for awhile but I've run into a problem..it isn't sticky any more. It has now developed a slickness that when you pull your gun the holster comes with it.
Anybody had this problem? Any ideas on a spray or liquid that would impart a tacky residue?

Never want to point a loaded holster at anything!

I’m interested in what you say also. I carry an S&W bodyguard .380 in one and your right it loses its "stick" fast.:(

I have sort of trained myself to draw it out by letting a finger hit the holster and that allows the gun to come free "naked"

Looking forward to a good answer!

Mine's been carried all day every day for almost a year but is still plenty grabby enough to stay in the pocket when the gun is drawn. How old is yours?

They're inexpensive enough that just picking up a new one would seem to be a good solution.

Does the gun perhaps fit the holster a little too tight? Wrapping the gun in a heavy plastic bag and forcing it into the holster and left for a day will usually stretch the holster just enough for a smoother draw.

Possibly we have holsters made in different batches/different times. Mine started loosing its stick after only a couple months, I should think a well known product should last longer than that. Like I said in my first post I kind of figured out a draw method that does work.

I’m more of a traditionalist in my gun things, wood for stocks, and leather for holsters, steel for guns, perhaps this is my penance for buying plastic for my black gun. Frankly I’m rather disappointed in that well known product from that company!

The dust and pocket lint slicked up my Nemesis in about 1 1/2 years. So I used one of those sticky/tacky rollers that you get dog hair off your good clothes. The first time, I went used up 3 "pages", but I never let it get that bad again. I use a rough side out leather pocket holster also and after a year it was getting smooth and bent over. I used the sharp edge of a knife and went back and forth to rough it up. Then got the bent over area only, completely wet and clamped it between boards until dry. That was a month and a half of carry ago and still doing fine. Ivan

If it's that tacky when new,I have to wonder if it isn't just clogged with lint and dust.Have you tried scrubbing it with soapy water and a brush?

Same here

I went through two of them with the same issue and never found a solution.

I changed over to an Uncle Mikes pocket holster and so far it's lasted twice as long.

YMMV

They seemed to last and remain tacky much longer when they had the little American flag label sewn on one of the inside weltings. I don't know where they make 'em now, but it must not be in the US anymore . . . at least for the synthetic holsters.

Thanks for the comments, glad to know it is not just mine! No I do NOT need to gain any more weight and the remora is a great holster. Have one for another gun and really like it.

I used the Uncle Mike's for years, replacing them about every three or four years--not because they weren't still working fine, but just because they were getting a little threadbare on the edges. I think that little holster is a fantastic bargain for the buck. I still use one when wearing pants that have pockets it fits better than the DeSantis.

I guess I got lucky with my Nemesis. It's been great so far.

I'm thinking I've seen grip tape at the hardware store very similar to electrical tape but it's a lot more rubbery... I don't know if I would do it to a holster. I would just buy a new and different holster

I carry iwb appendix though, so mine is clipped to my belt
