Hello all. I have a 27-2 in blue with a 6 inch barrel that has some wear on the cylinder through the bluing. I have always wanted a pinto and that brings me to the question. Who could I send the gun to have a pinto made? I have $500 in the gun and am not planning to sell it to make any money. I will pass it on to my kids and hold onto it as long as I can and shoot it. Thanks for the help.

You can either buy the nickel parts needed (barrel, cylinder assembly, thumb piece, sideplate screws) and have the barrel installed, or refinish the parts you have. From personal experience I would recommend George Roghaar in FL for a refinish.
It would probably be easier to do with option 1 above.

I did exactly this a couple years ago.
Sent my finish challenged 27-2 to S&W for the work.
Job was done at their standard refinish cost.
I'm satisfied:
Should have had them plate the thumbpiece and nut.

When the factory is backed up, they sometimes send the backlog to Home - Accurate Plating & Weaponry | Cogan Custom.
