Agreed. My living room is a shared space, but I have some say on what happens there. Pretty sure my wife wasn't the one who put the 10 gauge sxs above the fireplace, or the set of longhorns, or the painting of the Mountie or the Sopwith Camel prop above the front door. Hell I've picked most of the furniture for our house too.

Not saying my wife is a pushover, she does what she wants too. You could probably describe our house as.....unique.

Its just nice to have another place that is dedicated to whatever I feel like, and that's why I have my garage.

Almost every time my folks visit, my mom says "you can tell a woman doesn't live here." I just bought a lot bigger TV...even thou I don't watch it much.

I don't know anyone who doesn't have a tv in their living room. I have a 30x40 pole barn that I could call a man cave if I wanted to but see no need to hang out there unless I have to work on something.

A BYGONE ERA PERHAPS.

The living room was where the good furniture is/was & kids were often not allowed. A place where adults could sit comfortably, have a drink and converse as adults. TV is the art of conversation killer. Sitting around the boob tube watching cars drive in a circle or grown men playing with balls took place on beat up couches with popcorn/potato chips in the cushions & nobody cared, children & dogs welcomed AKA the den. The MAN CAVE is a place for peace & solitude (if that's wanted) with a bunch of things too dangerous for unattended children & some women. (MY definitions FWIW)

I bet that looks great in bloom. It seems they get bigger the further north you go, I tried them in Broward and they just don't get that big down there. I haven't noticed any big ones here in St. Lucie either. Where are you on the coast?

Currently building mine right now actually. My wife and I decided to remodel the entire downstairs at once, with one room becoming my cave entirely. The safes are in, tile is down, custom shelves built... Finishing up the trim this week and then I get to start moving in my furniture. I'll take my time hanging stuff up. I want to only put up the good stuff. It'll be a good chance to purge a lot of the accumulated junk over the years as well.
