That’s a high class problem.

I thank God that I don’t have any low class problems today.

Did they also mandate that "you will have a good time" Especially since now there are so many fun things to do while on "vacation":)
But heck at least you get paid and have a job.

It's all accountancy smoke and mirrors. Here in Vegas one hospital group has dropped the $3/hour bonus for medical staff working in the Natal ICU (NICU). So babies with problems got the word about COVID-19 and decided to be born healthy? What a crock. I know of another hospital where they are "operating below census" (likely because there are no electives taking place) and the nurses are being told to take at least one day vacation per pay period. No vacation time? You just get told not to come in and are shorted on your paycheck.

Does give you pause for thought on medicine for profit in time of crisis.

No, but they did say we did not have to work while using our vacation time!

I know this is a two edged sword, but as many others have posted, be as pleased as you can be that you are still getting paid.
There are too many hardworking and honest folks through no fault of their own are off work and not getting paid.

My S-I-L is a Nurse Practitioner, In a neural medical practice. He has lots of ICU/Trauma ward experience. The hospital "Volunteered" Him for ICU duty, The ICU with all the Pandemic cases in it. I videoed with him on Easter afternoon, and he looked as good as ever. But we had no discussion about money! This is about survival of as many as possible, the bills will be dealt with later! Those that wimped out, will also be dealt with later. Those that stepped up and "Filled the Gap", will also be remembered later! Always remember: "The Cream raises to the top!"

Did I see today; that the Gov of NY stated that workers in essential business should get 50% hazzard pay for working....................

Maybe not a "bad" idea..... but businesses aren't the government ..... where are those $$$$s coming from??????

My wire is a ER nurse. If she gets sent home due to low census, she’s getting paid now. Not before this, but now. And she is getting $15 more an hour. Me as a firefighter, nothing. But I’m good with that. Glad to have a job.

I work for the .gov, and thanks be to God, I have been paid the entire 40 or so days I’ve been off work.

As Hitchcock 45 says, “Life Is Good”.

Eh, telling health care professionals to stay home during a pandemic and period high demand? That makes SOOOOO much sense...

I was off already since I've been retired for seven years. There are thousands of acres of National Forest land near me that have well maintained gravel roads and bridges. My grand son and I have been doing a lot of exploring. He had never been out there. Lots of woods and small creeks. Caught a bucket full of red bellies yesterday and probably go back today.
