I bought a Manson de-leading reamer a couple of weeks ago since I shoot many many 38 cased DEWCs in both our 357 magnums and I saw that the brass brush on a drill and chemicals did not do a great job. I talked at length with the owner, Dave about this reamer and also others that I might need and also how to use things and he was great! The de-leader took a bunch of goop out of both the model 66 and also the new TRR8 and the reloaded cases sure fit nicer now! I used a tap handle with light pressure and it took some turning to get the tool to the correct depth and now all is well.

As a side note, I started to shoot 357 cases with the same load and that should really cut down on the lead build up but some will be had no matter what.

I'm waiting for my order on chamber throat reamers from Manson Reamers. So far Dave has been really helpful and friendly, I can't wait to see the result when all my revolvers (.357, .44 and .45's) have been reamed, as I shoot lead only.

I purchased some pin gages .370", .371" and .372" and have used them as de-leaders. They are 2" long and will just fit in the .357's cylinder. After using lead solvent and soaking the interior of the cylinder a while I then insert the smallest pin gage first. It will scrape a layer of lead. Then the next one and so on. It literally peals the lead off the inside of the cylinder. Because there is a little play, you can actualy apply pressure to a stubborn area. Very inepensive, fast and easy.

I had thought of doing that and was going to take the gun by Marshall's Hardware up near Miramar Air Station to get some pin gages. After talking to Dave he described the reamer and the steps it has in it and how it fits in the chamber so I went with that. It also has flats that I can use with a small reamer tee handle since my hands are getting a bit weaker with arthritis these days and it is easy to use. In thinking about it, they would have probably been a bit worried at Marshall's anyways?!

Dave Manson is a great guy & fellow forum member, He is also the fellow who reamed my 940 to 38 Super & beveled the charge holes..
It's been great ever since & he was kind to my wallet too..
I wouldn't look anywere else for a reamer other than him..
