A good friend of mine, who has been around firearms all of
his life has a Remington model 12 made in 1928. It has a
factory installed Marbels peep sight.

A couple of years ago he decided to take it apart, clean it and reassemble. That's where things went south. He wasn't able
to reassemble it correctly and now is ain't functioning too well.

He wrote to the factory for some help and was told they don't work on sights that old anymore. So he put everything into a little box and that's where it sits to this day.

Does anyone know who he can contact to reassemble or get help in putting this sight back into working order. not sure exactly what the problem is.

MODS: If this is in the incorrect catagory, please move.

I bought a used Marbles tang sight that was broke for $5 in a vintage arms store. I entered into a bull session with the guys and began playing with the sight. I discovered the spring was upside down. When in the correct position the "tail of the coil spring will fit in a notch and be held from rotating when the outer cap/cover is in place. Seeing that the sight was now repaired, they offered to double my money!
