Happy to meet Engineer1911 at the match, if only briefly. He bravely shot his 6" AFS 29-? standing with some old cast bullet loads. And survived the "new guy" treatment! Although I think he had shot at this range years before. He also was kind enough to help reset targets which went above and beyond the call of duty.

But sw282 was the only other S&W shooter that I noted this day. I brought a 29-3 10 5/8" revolver, but never got around to shooting it as I had a couple of "new" toys to break in. An XP-100 which exceeded all expectations, giving me my first 40 out of 40, PLUS nine of ten 1/2 scale 200m Rams! With cast bullets no less! The other entry was a 1914 LP08 Luger which needs some sight and trigger work. Did OK on Chickens, struggled on Pigs, and missed everything else except one Ram. Mostly because I couldn't hardly see the targets as the Kentucky windage and elevation was severe!

We also had several returning shooters from the old days, so ranks continue to swell.

Sw282 gave me some old illustrated factory parts lists which were later robbed by Numrich arms for their catalogue. Rather larger than the small IPL in the instruction manuals. Thanks for that!

Sw282, any other S&W news from the match?

Great job J!!! I saw the scores yesterday and noticed your 40! Congrats! I'm glad the weather cooperated since they'd been predicting storms all week. Is it true sw282 shot some turkey steel?? I didn't see a score for him!?!

Congrats on the 40x40! I fired exactly ONE 40 in my time shooting IHMSA. Where is the club where you shoot?

Little River Gun Club for Big Bore. It's behind a junkyard in a cow pasture with several ponds.

75vette, you ought to hitch a ride with one of us and really stretch your revolvers' legs. MikeD (AKA, IHMSA "Superman") comes from your part of the world.

sw282 got done shooting before I got on the firing line, so I don't know how his day went. He likes to maintain his secret scoring system in deference to us lesser mortals.

As for the 40 (+9 of 10 1/2 scale Rams), I'm astonished! Especially with cast 7mm bullets! Getting cast to shoot out a revolver has been...rather more challenging!

Meeting Engineer 1911 was a great treat. He had a couple RARE 44s

with him. Both were Classics with unfluted cylinders. 629-2 Patridge

sight had 8 3/8'' barrel. Along with his 29-5 sporting 6'' w/silh sight.

Engineer1911 was kind enough to spot for me on the turkeys/rams.

His spotting helped reward me with THREE turkeys in a ROW@150M.

Making Saturday a true TURKEY DAY since it was first day in Georgia's

Spring Gobbler Season...With his Perfect 40 Jay is celebrating too
