Meh, Mardi Gras is Mardi Gras. You've seen 1 you've seen them all.
I was born in New Orleans and grew up in Metry. We would watch the floats pass down Bonnabel Blvd. towards Veterans Blvd.

Same here. I grew up in Chalmette. There were a lot more parades then in the city and in Chalmette, and they passed four blocks away from my house. I was pretty much full up on parades well before I hit 18.
We went to New Orleans a few years ago on New Years Eve and being crammed together in crowds, shoulder to shoulder with slobbering and puking drunks was not quite as much fun as it sounds.
Mardi Gras was a lot more fun back in the day! Good luck with the chicken and Mrs. Cajun! Mrs. Houston will not go near any Mardi Gras - even in Galveston.
