Two weeks ago I was in Tyler Bros. in Wagner, SC. They had a Henry pump .22 that I was interested in. Had it marked $549. Ask if they could do better. NOPE. Back in there today for their Carhart sale. SAME RIFLE tagged " Was $599 now $497...today only".............SO it was a mark up mark down sale....I hope they choke on it.

Kind of like the going out business sale sign on the store that has been up for the past 10 years....shop with your feet.

If they had the gun for $550, and then they put out a big sale sign that said regular $600 on sale for $550 --- well that's a crock. I believe I would turn around and leave.

But two weeks ago when you looked at it it was $550. Today it is on sale for $500. Yes the sign says that it's regular $600 on sale for $500, so it looks like it's a better sale than it is, but still it's $50 cheaper than it was two weeks ago.

What's the problem?

Could be the guy you asked if they could do better was a clerk without the authority to to do better and without the brains to ask his boss....

Their Carhart sale was probably the same. Blame bean counters in dark rooms somewhere. That and human gullibility.

MSRP is 700 on the manufactures web site
In Store lists it's non sale price at $550
For the sale it's save $200 over list price of $700-now only $500!
Old retailer trick-Don't blame the player-learn the rules of the game!

X2. When I seriously gun shop I know the ball park price before hand. Buds(out of stock) list $477. It's a whim purchase. I have mutiples of .22's.
