Your model 66 has been around the world!! Those markings appear to be West Germany proof marks, done on any firearm sold or used. I had this done on all my guns so I could join the local shooting clubs in the earlier 80's while I was stationed in Stuggart. Plus, the year would this was done was probably 1977. How did you acquire it? We like stories!!

I have the same markings on my 19-3 except the date is 72, it came from Germany.

Thanks fellas, yes since posting i have since found out about the German proof marks.I bought the gun only a few months ago of a local dealer here in Australia who imported two model 66 snubbies, i dont know the history of the gun but can only assume he imported it from Germany as i recenlty bout a model 49 bodyguard or him and it had similar markings.I will ring him and find out. Thanks for youre help fellas.
