I bought this knife new (cir. 1983) in Germany when I was in the Army stationed there.
I probably paid around $100.00 for it.
Just found it in a box of stuff. Just thought I'd share. :)

Is that Spanish made? I think I saw an article on them years ago.

It reminds me a little of the Puma Frogman with that guard. Puma have a new Frogman that looks more modern than the one like Lloyd Bridges used on, Sea Hunt. I've only seen photos.

NATO used to issue the older model to military divers.

My sole Spanish knife is a Muela Tornado, probably inspired by the SOG SEAL 2000. It seems a good knife with obvious quality.

If you paid $100 for that in Germany back then, it's probably a quality item. Have you used it at all? How do you like it, and what's in that capsule from the hollow handle?

Never used it. The knife is very solid, and very sharp. :)
I do believe it's Spanish.
Never opened the capsule.

First I've ever seen something like that. Very interesting. Took a moment to figure out what the attachment is. Looks like it would really work, too.

Beautifl knife. I picked up a modern German Paratrooper Gravity Knife when I was in Germany back in 2000. I paid I think about $50 for it?? and not too long ago-noticed some Ameriican company was selling them here now for roughly $59.00.

Picked up a West German Bundeswher gravity knife some time ago at a local gunshow. Has both the knife and what looks like a marlin spike on it and may be an older version. Very easy to take apart and clean. Frank

Inclinometer already engraved. Is there a notch on top of the guard so you can use as a rear sight and use the point as a front sight for that?
Somewhere I have books written by a Special Forces type that instructed how to set up a big Buck knife for that. Good stuff.
