I'm a transplant, couldn't convince the wife to move to a free state and there is no way I'm taking another BAR exam.

I am also from Mass and can never keep track of our crazy laws. What if good friend of mine from NH bought a gun and didnt like it (non-Mass complient). Could I make a personal purchase from him and have it in Mass?

No, because of federal law. State resident to state resident only for handguns, unless you go through an ffl. Then the ffl has to follow state law and won't transfer a non compliant gun.

Their are other ways though. If said friend moved to MA, he could sell you his gun as a MA resident.

I find it hard to believe that anyone in their right mind actually believes that trigger pull or magazine capacity has anything at all to do with gun violence or crime.
Its their chosen method of deflecting their responsibility to deal with the real issues: criminals and mental illness.
