Am considering the purchase of a 5" L frame series 686 Plus and might send it back for a Master Revolver Action Package. Found just a few threads that praise this fine-tune PC service but would appreciate a wider spectrum of opinions. Listed cost is $165 and round trip FedEx will add another $50-$60. Will this Action Package measurably improve functionality?

Thanks.

I got the 5" 686 plus performance center gun that comes with the master action package. It did have an amazing trigger. But ceased to fire Cci primered rounds reliably after about 900 rounds. Partially and probably due to the ribbed mainspring. I had to replace the mainspring on mine - just to keep it reliable.

I had a Model 19 get the Action Package and the trigger pull is the smoothest I have fired.

The package I had done also included a matte bluing. Picture below.

About 20-odd years ago, I bought an M66 from our Explorer post. I eventually did have that work done, and it was great. What that means TODAY, I dunno.

So, Lou, the Master Revolver Action Package provides the enhancement upgrades for Performance Center 686 Plus models?

The model i got was sold with a master action package with it. I tried looking it up, but i think it was discontinued.

It originally came with a front fiber red sight and rear steel sight.
