At least one police officer was shot at the scene and is in critical condition. Another civilian was shot and is also in critical condition, police said.

Well it happened again. A guy with a rifle and high capacity mag decided to kill innocent people here in NY. I’m not sure how this could happen. That gun is illegal in NY. NY passed laws so this would never happen. NY passed laws in NYC specifically so that your avg person can not conceal carry………. In Michigan a guy got stupid with a knife. Then a guy with a handgun stopped it.

This is the bottom line, people should come to the US To BeCome AMERICANS not bring the society,beliefs of the country they left or they should stay in their country. Back in 70s-90s I worked in and around several Large well known US cities that had large parts of town known as towns of foreign countries. They had much of their homelands there and taught their children old country languages( if they wanted) But when they left and worked in business and manufacturing plants THEY WERE AMERICANS! They followed sports teams, NASCAR and everything else there was about US Society. Was invited to meals at several of their homes and was very nice.
Just what has happened since then? Why is becoming an AMERICAN so hard or not required??? Inquiring minds want to know…..

For all the uninformed the shooter was born in Hawaii. I guess there is sand there but for those that don't know that is the 50th State!

He grew up in California and was a high school football standout.

He also was a concealed carry permit holder from Nevada, so guessing his mental health issues were not well known.

It will be interesting to see if CTE is present. That is a real and legitimate concern. Or if he had some other break from reality.

Not that any of that excuses the violence.

While I agree with your sentiment my comments are more directed at the prevailing feeling that individuals from foreign nations are somehow more violent than what we grow right here in the good old USA.

Just take a look at the statistics and it shows that both illegal and legal immigrants commit crimes at a statistically lower rate than US citizens as a percentage of the population.

Outside of 911 most of the mass shootings, bombings, serial killers, etc are US citizens.

We don't need to import the boogeyman. We make more of them here than anywhere else.

Several major cities such as NYC, San Francisco and LA no longer report violent crime to the FBI anymore.

I agree with the CTE issue. It's my understanding he took his own life, hopefully he didn't shoot himself in the head. Wanting to preserve his brain for CTE studies, Seau shot himself in the chest.

Excellent presentation of the facts.
However, the evidence of CTE, if any, was sprayed on ceiling tile when he ate his own 5.56.
This does line up with other incidents like this where the individual was taking prescription SSRI's
in some cases, that stuff seems to be able to make some wildcard killbodies
