No one was implying that it increased the value of a gun. Just stating the fact that S&W sold and shipped guns to many hardware stores back in the day. I'm old enough to remember a time when many, if not most small town hardware stores sold guns.
True...Up until a few years ago we had a shoe repair shop here in Conroe with an FFL...Not much inventory, but it sure smelled good in there...Just a side note to say back in the day all small towns had a gun store some in unusual places.
No, didn't find the original grips, bought from a friend's estate!Serial number on the right stock?
And once upon a time, you could have a Class 1 FFL, and could legally sell guns from your home, as long as you had a room with an exterior entrance and the room was inaccessible from inside your living quarters. Most small towns had one or two of those.True...Up until a few years ago we had a shoe repair shop here in Conroe with an FFL...Not much inventory, but it sure smelled good in there......Ben
I had one of those too until I had so many guns I decided to build my own gun store...Then I sold it and retired (again) so now I'm back to guns trying to overtake my living space...What's a poor guy to do?...And once upon a time, you could have a Class 1 FFL, and could legally sell guns from your home
