Hoping that someone with an MP10 could give me quick couple measurements:
1. Measurement from front of the receiver to front of the gas block
2. Measurement from the front of the gas block to the front of the .750 taper
3. Length of the whole .750 gas block area

I'm thinking about an MP10 purchase but am concerned about the proprietary parts and compatibility a bit, but the price, quality and accuracy is hard to argue.
In addition I'd want a quad rail but can't stand the look of the barrel floating in the end of a rail. I'd like to fill the end of a rail with a gas block, better look IMO. So... thats why I'm looking for these measurements. Ideally I'll replace the gas block with a low profile gas block, possibly the Troy 2" block and a mid length rail of some sort.... we'll see.

Hey mrtoyz,

This might help you out.

front of receiver to back of gas block 9.5" measured with a tape.
length of gas block 1.160".
length of .750 portion of barrel where gas block attaches 1.420".

Kind of oddball. The gas block boss on the barrel is to short for an AR15 front sight base you'd have to use one of the short gas blocks. The mid length FF hand guards are all listed as 9 1/4" but the gun uses standard mid length hand guards so I would assume that there will not be a gap from the front of the hand guard to the back of the gas block.
