I went shopping with my wife yesterday. This sign was at the entrance. I never saw ARROW, so he never got the chance to sniff me.

In Ohio the malls are generally not gun prohibited areas. So the point of Arrow is a mute point! The best of the malls are being overrun with gangs!

The Easton Mall had a gang problem. The wife and I went to see a movie after a dinner out and were amazed at all the Gang Bangers! But the mall had poured on the security. There must have been 100 pair of private security and 25 pair of armed Columbus police. The gang bangers were in colors but kept their hands to themselves and tried to be low profile as possible!

In reviewing Meadow Mall's "Code of Conduct" on their website, I noted the following (and I quote):

"Examples of specific activities that are prohibited include but are not limited to:"

"No firearms"

I wouldn't step foot in that place for any reason.

I guess I'll have to refrain from using Hoppes 9 cologne before going there. One dog, many entries. Avoid the dog.

I've been told that most, if not all, casinos in Nevada are posted "No Firearms." Oddly, the positioning of these signs are usually not very conspicuous; their size and font are seemingly small for their purpose. I know I haven't seen any. ;)

I was on a job where the GC had bought the county sheriff a pair of dogs in exchange for keeping the parking lots safe. I always keep spare ammo in the console and and sometimes a get home gun in a locked safe mounted under the rear seat. For fun I littered the bed with some freshly fired shells. Some guys were called up but I was never bothered and never saw claw marks on my truck.

Can you be arrested/charged with any crime for violating the 'rules of the mall' ? I would think that as long as you are legally carrying a firearm within the limits of state laws, a person would technically be good. Yes/no?

Also from the "Code of Conduct" on the Mall's webpage:

"The center is a privately owned property. Guests who do not act responsibly may be asked to leave. If they refuse to leave the property, they may be arrested and prosecuted for criminal trespass."

So, in essence, someone found to be carrying a concealed firearm on the premises would likely be asked to leave, and a refusal could result in an arrest for trespass.

I don't see any way someone could be arrested for carrying on the premises, only for refusing to leave when asked.

During the decade I was reporting in Boulder County District Court (Colorado) the deputies had a drug dog named Leroy. Leroy was so gentle he would be displayed at county fairs and such. Many pictures of Leroy and children in the Sunday supplements.
A relatively small Shepherd, he weighed 60-70 pounds.
One night I was working late in my 8X10 office (no administrator me). About 11:30 that night the deputies came by my office with Leroy.
I had 1.5 kilos of 95% cocaine in my file cabinet for the trial I was reporting.
Leroy was in full voice when he hit my door.
I have often thought my first heart attack was then, but the cardiologist says not.

I've not seen sniffer dogs in malls around here. As to establishments with "no firearms" stickers if they somehow detect that you have a firearm on you they will ask you to leave. Like mentioned above, if you refuse they can have you removed for trespassing or disturbing the peace.

Many times I have been in those establishments with my mouse gun undetected. Concealed means concealed.

And yes, Tom is correct, ground coffee won't help you.✌

Except for a few "areas", Florida is free of that nonsense. I personally know no one who has ever been trespassed or even asked to leave any establishment for bring armed. Yes, the Mouse House and other theme parks are "areas." I personally have been "made" once; in 1996 I took an "adult High School" computer course. Leaning over to help a young lass, the teacher saw my 6906 when my shirt lifted. Showed my CWP ans that was that. Probably be different today. Joe

Carry dog treats in your pocket, then offer him some if he points you out. It's a confusion/diversionary tactic. You can also pack your gun in coffee grounds. :D :p

Take a pretty girl French poodle with you every time you go to the mall. That would keep Arrow’s nose occupied and off sniffing for your .44 magnum!

In PA I believe the term is "defiant trespass".

They can post no guns allowed. But unless they see you carrying, it's not a really enforceable thing.

They can ask you to leave, and if you do, that's legally the end of it.

This does not apply to government buidlings, of course.

Welcome to security theater! We care so much that we go out of our way to show you just how much we are doing for your safety! Our legal staff and insurance company lawyers tell us how to do that! You should feel much better about coming here with your business.

My honorary nephew, who practices firearms law for PA and MD, just gave a lecture about gun laws in PA and he used the term "defiant trespass" to describe the scenario where a firearm carrier is asked to leave, sign or no sign, and the firearm carrier refuses to leave.

The county sheriffs (large department) patrol the airport, and I know a few of that outfit. One of my buddies told me that they now have a gun dog and even though I'm legal in the area before the TSA security zone not to carry in the airport. If the dog outs me I will be hurriedly escorted by a couple on edge deputies to a side room and I will be checked out.

I would be found legal but it will cost some wasted time. Could miss the person I'm picking up. Remember I live in the peoples republic of NY. Fortunately I do not go to the airport often but if I do I will leave it in vechicle.
