I have a lot of load books with a lot of different loads .Lyman RCBS and hornady all have different starting loads for bullseye from 2.4 to 3.5 .I won't light target loads. Any one have experience with this bullit.

I discovered my revolvers all seemed to like a 38 Special Target Load of a 148 gr. cast WC and 2.7 grs. Bullseye for paper punching ... NRA Indoor Bullseye Match Competition .
Try 2.6 , 2.7 and 2.8 grs Bullseye and if one of those loads isn't accurate ... something is wrong !
One of those loads usually brings home the bacon !
Some who compete at 50 yards (Indoor is 25 yds.) like to use 3.0 grs Bullseye ... you might want to try it also ... it's a good load !

I would do ladder tests with bullseye starting at 2.5gr and go to 3.3gr.
I would also seat them flush and seat them so you crimp them in the crimp groove.

I like loading wc's so that the nose of the wc is out into the leade of the chambers. These are h&g #50 148gr button nosed wc's seated in the top lube groove instead of the crimp groove in 38spl cases.

They are seated long to be used in a 357mag revolver. The 357mag case is +/- 1/8th inch longer than a 38spl case. Hense the wc bullet being seated out +/- 1/8th inch farther.

These targets were shot at only 50ft. The left target is those loads pictured above with the wc bullet seated long and 3.8gr of bullseye powder.
