My Hi-Viz sight melted when I was drilling the hole to install it.
I was able to return it. Should I buy another and try again?

Thanks,

Need way more facts. I cannot for the life of me figure out how you melted a Hi Vis sight drilling a hole to mount it. I can drill a 3/4" hole through a 2" block of steel and it won't get hot enough to melt plastic. SHARP drill low rpm, firm pressure. But, why was the sight even close to tthe hole you while you were drilling.

Me either it was surprising to me also.
I did as I was instructed, perhaps why they didn't mind refunding my money.
I going to get a better drill bit and try again.
My machinist friend said if I wanted I could bring it over and he would drill it for me. He has some cobalt bits.

Thanks for replying,
