What is the difference ? what qualifies one for a Senior Member

Another point of view

I usually try to be a peacemaker on the various forums I frequent, but I'll take a contrary stand on this particular issue.

To me, granting different titles based on post count is counter-productive in a couple of ways:

1. It encourages the notion of a "caste" society, i.e., a "Senior Member is somehow better than just a plain old "Member"
2. It encourages nonsense or trash posting, just to raise post count, so a "Member" can elevate themselves to "Senior" status sooner

I favor (and would propose) doing away with the tiered titles, and calling everyone simply "member".

I don't care what you title me as long as I can participate in the forum. Who gives a rats butt if you're a member or a senior member or as old as rburg, Charlie, Onomea or anyone else. (Hehe!) ;.)

If this really means anything to you, forget about 20K posts, you better get a life now.
