I have been looking in the "For sale" thread.
I felt ill. The world will take advantage but here?
I will never buy from any business that took advantage of the deaths of some, fear of many to make larger profit off me. Many Co's stayed honest, they money get my going foward.

$75 for ONE 25 round magazine?? This was not the only gouge listing I read. You know what else I noticed? The mojority of the listings looking to rape other members on the listed prices were posted by members that joined this year.

IMO, only here to take advantage of us. Do we need them?

YEP,kinda funny suddenly the prices of those rifles and rifle parts are starting to drop. 1100.00 for an AR upper receiver,400. for a bolt carrier, kinda nuts, in time, when they run out of money, that stuff will go down to the regular price.
Even more so if it become illegal to buy, after a certain date then it drops real quick or worth nothing, ouch!!

A fool and his money is soon parted.
Hysteria buying is silly but occurs often especially with that gotta have at any price Christmas present.

Many sites have strict rules when it comes to selling. You must have been a member for three months AND have at least 100 posts. This helps weed out the flippers. My recommendation is for the staff to implement a policy such as this. That being said, we are talking about a luxury here, not bread.

 That poll isn't slanted, is it? I believe in capitalism. If people want to sell something with no dishonesty and people want to buy it, some should keep their self-righteous noses out of it. I've sold some hi cap mags recently for more than what I paid for them and the guys I sold them to were VERY grateful I was selling them at all. Sounds like a win-win to me for all parties directly involved, but I share it here to keep all of you saints up at night with consternation. :D

I kinda follow my "ebay rules" if its more than what I want to pay I move on. Someone always has a better price, just have to keep looking.

How do you know they didn't pay $72 for that magazine and are reselling it for a $3 profit?

In all of these price increases, we (or at least most of us) don't have any idea if and how much the wholesale price of the items has gone up.

Its all about supply and demand. The marxists have created a huge demand, the supply hasn't changed...prices went thru the roof. Some were caught unprepared. That is unfortunate.

Is it taking advantage of/ gouging, if 50 people are in line more than willing to pay the $75 for a magazine ?

I've seen these knot heads standing in line at the LGS for two hours so they could buy a Hi-cap mag, or ammo , or some sort of black rifle. And then get upset because there was a limit of 2 per customer. And say, " if I buy two can my wife buy two?"

People that normally buy a box or two of ammo a year. Buying 2 or 3 cases of ammo. I've seen people at the LGS fill up a shopping cart with ammo.

I've seen people line up a half hour before the LGS opens and when they open the doors it looks like the opening gate at the horse races.

I've seen people that voted for Obama, complaining the
handgun they ordered hasn't come in yet and how long was it going to take to get in. And wanting to know why the LGS was out of AR's and when were they going to get more in..

I've seen people buying magazines for guns they don't even have..

YOU JUST CAN'T FIX STUPID !!

By the way ,I have a used toothbrush I'm asking $1500,, anybody interested ? :D

I've paid more for ammo than I have in the past because I want to shoot. I refuse to pay 2, 3 or even 4 times the msrp for a mag. I've only joined this list recently but am surprised that Members would engage in the gouging. I understand the previous poster saying we don't know what a person paid for what they are selling but the hysteria hurts us all.

I've paid more for ammo than I have in the past because I want to shoot.

Every weekend , about 9 months out of the year you can find me at the local gun club shooting and / or in some sort of shooting match. Some times I even shoot in a winter bullseye league , so it's 11 months of the year.
In the past my daughters , my son-in-laws, even my grandchildren would shoot with me. We would go thru several hundreds of rounds of ammo a week / month. Cost and availablity of ammo has changed that.

Four years ago during the last ammo (etc.) shortage. There were police depts. that could Not get ammo for their qualifications.

All this due to knotheads that don't even shoot panic buying / hoarding everything and driving the prices up.

Do I like that the price of ammo / everything is going thru the roof ? Do I like the fact that I can't get reloading components / ammo and can't shoot as much as I like?
Do I like the fact that my kids and grandkids don't get to shoot with me as much as they use to ?
Do I like the fact that the majority, voted a bunch of anti-gun communist back into office ? No !

But I Do Not blame the LGS or the Mfg. for the prices or the shortages.
And if someone is selling something for 5 or 10 times what it's 'worth' and some Knot Head is willing to pay it ,, So be it..

The way I see it, people are getting what they voted for.

I've been a reader here for long time now but don't post much...I have 10 25 rd mags..when I seen the price people was payin for them I thought about listing some them on here but didn't feel right ripping off a fellow mp15-22 owner by selling the mags I paid $18.99.
But if people are willing to pay that price for them why should they not beable to find them on this board?

If I were desperate for a magazine (I'm not), and I was willing to pay $75 for one, who are you to say that someone shouldn't be allowed to provide the product I want at a price that I call fair* ?

* "Fair" defined as the current market price for an item in high demand that is actually available for sale, as opposed to the "MSRP" price for a product that no one has in stock.

Supply & demand, capitalist free market, etc.

The USA was formed on a free people and free market system. Many people have fought and died to keep us free and keep our free market system. As soon as someone can't get what they want right now for the price they want, socialism crops up and we start to hear: "We need price controls. The stores are gouging us." The blame is on the President and the liberals in charge of Congress, not the small gun store owner that is very concerned about having to go out of business due to lack of stock to sell for the next few months.

I had several spare ARs, Glocks, and other handguns with over ten round capacities. I have sold them recently for more than I bought them for. People were lined up and willing to pay. People have been selling their older Colt and S&W revolvers to buy ARs and handguns with more than ten round capacities. I have been buying older Colt and S&W revolvers recently at great prices.

I am happy and they are happy. The only people complaining are the ones that didn't see this coming and can't find what they want for the price they think they deserve to get it for right now. Either pay the market price or wait for it to come down.

Free market capitalism. I cannot blame someone for getting the most for their product. It is not an emergency item like fuel after a storm or food so I have no problem. It is discretionary spending.

As much as I detest speculation/gouging/entrepreneurial-ingenuity I have to accept it as part of life in a free economy. It is the part of free-enterprise that helps justify socialism in the minds of some of it's victims. These vultures are balanced by the fools who suddenly need a thousand rounds of .45 ACP even if they almost never shoot the stuff (the recoil hurts their hands!) for hoarders help create the shortages that allow the vultures to roost on our heads.
I don't have as much ammo as I would like but I have enough for my needs and will continue to do so IF I am thoughtful and prudent with my shooting and keep alert for the market to change. If that makes me foolish for not spending myself into financial oblivion, so be it. I will remember the names and businesses of those who take advantage now (yes, I have a list), and I will act in accord to their present behavior when I buy things in the future.
