One period when I was a kid we lived in rural England. People at the end of the lane had a large cat who looked just like that. He was my bud, and no trouble. Pspspsps and he was right there. After petting him for about a minute he would start to sway from side to side, his eyes would half close and he would start to drool. Big old softie, but my cousins wouldn't go near him.

Oddly for an outside semi-farm cat, he showed no interest in chasing rodents or any of the birds in the yard. The birds knew it, too. Watched him through through a large group of starlings, sparrows and whatever eating scraps on the grass heading for our door and none of the birds moved more than a couple of feet to let him by.
