I stopped by a favorite gun shop yesterday afternoon and saw this nice pair. The full size 945, I already have the stainless version. The 52-2 I kind of always wanted one, but don't really need to start a new caliber in the collection. Both guns are in terrific condition. The 52 says with box and has a really light trigger pull. I did ask the vendor if it's original. He thought it was, but I did not ask him to go get it because they were quite busy and their storage area is in a basement level. I just stopped by on my way to a stock car racing event and needed to avoid rush hour traffic. I'd be happy to share with any interested people. Nice Pair Copy.jpg

Not helping Dino! Lol, I do really appreciate the info. I've also had my eye on a 4" combat 945 in the same finish scheme, but I've got to liquidate some of my other hole punchers to replenish my discretionary funds first! Don't be surprised if I buckle and DM you before the next few days, though!

Yes please @Dino44

Later production 52-2, looks nice. Tagged price isn't horrible but if it has some extra magazines included, it could be a fantastic price.

The 945 is definitely one of the more scarce example, I agree it is one of the Camfour exclusives. If that were one of the more common 5-inch 945's, I would call the tagged price a little too high.

However if you were interested in chasing a scarce variant, their price isn't awful.

And both prices are better if original boxes are included of course. (Plus, you said they wheel & deal!) Bottom line is that I am relieved these two are not my local gun store! 🤣

The 945 has no box and only the one Mag.... it's from a deceased estate so it is what it is.

I'd like it but i'd definitely need a second and maybe a 3rd mag so i might be making a rod for my own back because they are scarce and importing the mags into Australia is difficult. Getting the gun here is not much of a problem, just costly and slow.

It's my understanding that the 645 and 4506 magazines are dimensionally the same, but a second magazine release notch has to be cut to the correct location on the replacement magazine. loony888 you are correct the 945 magazines are very scarce.

Yes, the magazines are scarce, since they were only manufactured by Smith & Wesson, but they are out there. Check eBay from time to time and you can find them. There are a good number of them listed now, but nothing cheaper than $100 right now. Depends on how bad you want seconds, thirds, etc. I like to keep 3 mags per pistol.

Whenever or wherever you buy your mags, ensure the magazine catch/release notch is slightly above the 4th round indicator hole and not slightly below it. Also, follower is always black; never orange or yellow.
