Fred Bear. That's a name and face I haven't seen in years. I still have my dad's old red wool hunting coat.

Yes! Fred Bear….reminds me of my first and only compound bow, a “first generation” Bear Whitetail model in the ‘70s. Didn’t Fred Bear author articles in Field and Stream or Outdoor Life back then? I remember reading his stories somewhere before seeing his commercial bow products. My Fred Bear bow always hit perfectly in the center of a hay bale but it always got buck fever when in the woods

There is a grainy video out there showing him shooting flying ducks with a recurve bow.......He didn't hit every one but he did kill 3-4......I saw it in awe!
